This week was a bit scattered! I did a lot of different things! On Monday I made a poster to encourage people to recycle their milk cartons for Green Council, using Photoshop ELements, a program which I officially love. On Tusday I read a chapter on Digital Overdrive and did a quiz. I also made a logo for Green Counci which will be screen printed onto grocery bags. On Wensday I worked on my yard clean up spread for the yearbook. I am getting better and better at using CS2. Thursday was a very busy day! I took pictures for the Breast Cancer Cut for the Cure and I took pictures of Gr.8 students coming to experence Korah life. In class I did another chapter of Digital Overdrive and did another quiz. I find it very interesting, and am learning a lot about production of a film. On Friday i continued to work on my yard clean up spred.

The title page of the yearbook has also been drawn and it is amazing! Jaimee is drawing a good copy and the cover is coming along beautifully!

Nov 15th-18th Weekly Post
This was a very slow week. The previous week we had wrapped up some big projects (spreads) so this week we had to start fresh. Also we lose Friday because it is a PD day. Brianna and I wrote out a rough layout for the yearbook. We took a look at some of the past yearbooks to give us a little push. I was shocked to see how much the yearbooks have changed over the years. We both started new spreads, I started the yard clean up spread. I also took some photos for the yearbook of the student council canned food drive. I will post a few of my photos below!

Nov 8- Nov 12 Weekly Post
This week was very successful! I finished the Duathalon spread and it was sent up to Ms. Thompson for editing. I corrected the mistaked and I am ready to package the spread! I also made my second button (finally) and explored prezi.com. I have started to make a prezi, it is a very interesting program, and can actually casue motion sickness. It made Brianna a bit nauseaous. Never the less I am learning a ton about prezi and I can see myself using this program in the near future for some of my other classes!

Weekly Post Nov 1st- 5th PART 2
This week I also did quite a bit of work on the Duathalon Spread for the yearbook. I learned alot about how to add the captions and not box them out. It was difficult re-arranging work, but in the end I managed to ensure that the captions were not boxed out as well as add another photo. I am not quite finished with the spread so I will post a copy of it as soon as I am finished! Also i made a prezi account, which I am very excited about! It looks like an awsome program and i am sure that I will be using it alot!

Weekly Post Nov 1st- 5th PART 1
It was a pretty darn productive week! I started off with the most difficult photo editing task that i had ever tried. Using the clone tool I completely erased a person from a photo. It was very frusterating and it took me three days to do, but it was definatley worth it in the end. I had to be very careful to ensure that I cloned out every trace of the person in the background, including her shadow which was very tricky. I was even able to use the edited photo in the yearbook spread for the Duathalon. I was proud of my work, and I definatley have a better grasp on the clone tool. Here is the original and edited photo:

October 17th-22nd
I actually cannot believe it is Friday. This week had gone by incredibly fast. I have started to make my first spread by myself! I am learning so much about CS2. I have come to appreciate the abiltity to lock a photo in its place, and I have a new respect for graphic desigeners. I worked on the spread on Monday and Tuesday. On Wensday I was at the city wide cross country running meet. I ran in the race and I also took some photos. I will put them on to the computer and I will post a few on my blog! I am really pleased at hou\w some of my action shots turned out.Today I attmepted to make a button and got thoroughly frusterated at CS2, but I am very detrmined to make this button, so believe me it will be done on Monday.

October 12th-15th
This week has been exhausting. Blah. Im slowly adjusting to IB. This week in class I made a poster in Adobe Photo Sop Elements, that I posted a few days ago. I've learned how to create drop shadow on font, to make the title pop! I am slowly becoming to love Photo Shop. Although I can still get extremely frusterated at it. I also edited some photots from the Duathalon as well as typed up a news report. Brianna and I started to make the East West spread for the 2010-2011 yearbook, and I have to say it is looking pretty good! We plan on starting on the cover desing next week! I'll make sure to keep things posted as we finish them! Til next week...

September Turns To October-Weekly Post
The first month was such a whirl. So much has happened it is unbelieveable. Tackling IB one subject at a time and still finding time to sleep. I take freat pride in my work on the yearbook. It's my only class where I can be creative, and there are also no due dates in this class. That is a truly beatiful thing.
I came into the position as yearbook editor without a clue what CS2 or the lasso tool were. I had no idea how to make a spread or edit a photo, but as I write this, I can confidently say that I am on my way to becoming a lasso master. I now know the importance of re-sizing a photo and how to manipulate the layers on CS2. I have successfuly lassoed many a photo, editied a bodycopy and taken creative liberties. Bri and I have officially completed the Spirit Spread in the 2010-2011 yearbook, and it has been sent up to Ms. Thompson for official editing. I will post a copy of the spread, along with some of my edited photos. Plenty of hard work and frustration can been seen in these pictures. Anyway off to start the East West spread! Til my next weekly post! ckm

Superhero!
I am spiderman! It says that I'm intelligent, witty and a bit geeky and have power and determination!
Future Career Goals
This is a hard one. I'm currently unsure..but I do have tons of ideas! I'm thinking an anestesiologist...but possibly going overseas to school in order to skip the undergraduate degree. There are so many things that interest me...I guess thats why I'm n IB...so if I can make up my mind, at least I'll be well rounded...right?
Skills I Hope to Aquire
Hmmm, well I am extremely facinated with photography, as you can probably tel from the rest of this blog! I'd like to improve my skills with a camera. I also know I'll be learning tons of new things, seeing as this is the first blog I've ever made! I'm really excited to see how this semester turns out!
Projects that I want to work on in this course..
Well, I am really interested in photography, I would love to be able to get behind a camera! Things to do with the yearbook would be excellent as well! I'm open to pretty much anything actually, I'm really glad I got into this class!
What is my objective for this course?
Well it was an escape from leadership class that I was put in, and also the only cousrse related to photography that my rigid IB schedual allowed. I really wanted in that photography class. But this is just as good!
